Belgrade School Trustee Troy Timmer has resigned from the board due to his work schedule.
Timmer, a roofing contractor, said he has been in the process of expanding his business and starting a roofing company in Billings. His company also opened an Anderson Windows dealership in Billings.
“When Billings got hit with a tornado on Father’s Day, then nine days later, Bozeman got hit with another hail storm, we got just incredibly busy,” he said. “I’ve been back and forth between Billings and here. We’ve added new people and it’s a lot to manage. We started a new business in Billings and that made it tougher, too.”
Timmer was elected in 2009 and said he enjoyed his stint on the board, but doesn’t have the time necessary to be an effective board member.
“It’s to the point where it’s not fair to the other board members; it’s not fair to Superintendent Candy Lubansky and the school district that I’m not there,” he said. “I want to do it. I really enjoyed it. In the last two years, I learned a tremendous amount, but there is still a lot more to learn. They need someone who can put more time and effort into it.”
During his time as a trustee, Timmer said he learned more about the quality of the people working in the Belgrade School District.
