A Belgrade man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday for sending a photo and video of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct to an undercover agent.

John Michael Whitehead, 36, is charged with distribution and receipt of child porn. He pleaded guilty to the charge in March.

Upon his release, Whitehead will serve 20 years probation and is required to pay $3,000 to one of the victims, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.

The release said an undercover FBI agent was chatting online with Whitehead in a group known to exchange child porn in December. During the conversation, Whitehead sent the agent a photo of a child engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

In January, the release said Whitehead sent the agent a video of a prepubescent child engaged in sexually explicit conduct with a man.

Later that month, Whitehead admitted to agents that he used an app on his phone to trade child porn, the release said. Investigators found videos and photos of child porn on his two cellphones.
