It worked well to the east, so Fiesta Mexicana owners Juan and Victor Murillo decided to try their luck with authentic Mexican food across the border in Belgrade.
“People liked the food, so we decided to come to Belgrade,” Juan Murillo said.
Fiesta Mexicana is operating one store in Bozeman, near Mixers Club on Aspen Street. They opened the Belgrade restaurant last Thursday.
“People from Belgrade, Manhattan and out that way were telling us to come out this way, and we found this location,” Juan Murillo said.
The location, above the Belgrade Lounge on East Main Street, has been home to numerous restaurants in the past year. The Cowboy Bistro replaced Bill’s Grill in January, then left town months later and was replaced by the Big Sky Buffet.
Fiesta Mexicana is hoping to find a long-term home for its brand of authentic Mexican dishes.
Chef Victor Murillo has been working in the kitchen for 13 years.
“We have the real Mexican food, and pretty much everything,” Juan Murillo said.
Lunches start at around $5.95 and dinners average $11 to $12, he said. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
