Court debuts self-help law center in Bozeman
Staff Report
The Gallatin County District Court has launched a self-help law center for 'self-represented litigants in family law matters to help them navigate the court system on their own,' according to Jan Bjork, court administrator for the Eighteenth Judicial District.
The self-help center, located in the lobby of the Law and Justice Center in Bozeman, opened for business Monday morning, Bjork said.
'The new center will enhance court efficiency while increasing access to justice by providing information and resources ...' This exciting new program has been made possible by the generosity of Gallatin County,' said Bjork, who will oversee the program.
'We appreciate the collaborative effort to make this necessary program a reality,' District Judge Mike Salvagni said in the statement. 'We see the frustrations that many self-represented litigants experience when they come to court. Providing resources to guide them is a constructive way to enhance their access to justice and to assist the court with efficiently resolving cases.'
The center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The phone number is 582-2158.
Inquiries about the new Gallatin Self-Helnumber is 582-2158.
