Tigers’ boys pull off expected four-peat
BOZEMAN — Manhattan accomplished its goal Saturday when the Tigers won their fourth straight District 5B track and field title at Van Winkle Stadium. The Tigers got double wins by Mike Asay, Shane Naki and the relay teams to rack up 132 points.
Manhattan’s girls hold off Big Timber for title
BOZEMAN — Manhattan’s girls won their first District 5B track and field championship in nearly a half dozen years Saturday at Van Winkle Stadium in Bozeman. Their victory helped the Tigers make a clean sweep as the boys also won the championship.

BUTTE — In the grand scheme of things, Belgrade’s two loses over the weekend at the Laverne Combo Softball Invitational in Butte didn’t really mean much. Yes, the first loss did snap the Panthers’ school record 11-game win streak. And yes, Belgrade is no longer unbeaten.

DILLON — Saturday’s annual Beaver Booster Invitational served as the final regular season tune up for Belgrade’s girls track and field team. The Panthers took advantage of the opportunity by posting 139 points en route to the team title.

Bandits shut down Butte Miners
It was a weekend of ups and down for the Belgrade Bandits’ American Legion baseball team. Belgrade played good ball in earning a split against Kalispell and Butte in a tripleheader at Edward S. Medina Field on Saturday, then couldn’t contain Great Falls on Sunday.
Posse pick up first wins
DEER LODGE — The Gallatin Valley Posse posted their first doubleheader win of the season Saturday when they took a pair from Livingston. But the Posse dropped a conference doubleheader in Deer Lodge, 11-1 and 12-3, on Sunday.
