Top 10 Placers

Belgrade's Marissa Giese (left in yellow) and Kyra Giese (right in yellow) placed in the top 10 Saturday at the divisional meet in Havre.

Rachel White noted that it was “freezing cold” Saturday at Beaver Creek Golf Course in Havre.

Belgrade’s cross country coach also said there were “awesome races” at the Eastern A Fall Classic. Her girls team boasted a pair of top 10 placers en route to finishing third, while the boys placed fourth.

“Hardin killed everyone in team scoring, but we had totally gritty performances,” said White. “Tons of PRs and season bests. All but a couple of kids are sick.”

Hardin’s girls, who are the two-time defending Class A champions, easily won the divisional with 20 points. Laurel was second with 67, while Belgrade placed third with 73.

Marissa Giese led the Panthers by placing seventh in 20:53.23, while younger sister Kyra was 10th in 21:06.71. Ashley Morgan and Audrey Maroney placed 16th and 17th, respectively, with times of 21:58.67 and 21:59.77.
