Belgrade’s Hannah Stokke wrapped up her prep career at the state Class A tennis tournament Friday.

Stokke, the lone representative for the Panthers, finished with a 1-2 record after qualifying for state for a second consecutive season.

The senior’s tournament began with a 5-7, 1-6 loss to Corvallis’ Madeline DeLeo. Stokke bounced back in the first round of the consolation bracket by outlasting Hardin’s Abi Notebloom in three sets 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Stokke was knocked out in the second round of the consolation bracket by Columbia Falls’ Hannah Schwiekert 4-6, 4-6. Schwiekert went on to place third.

“Her play was her best this season,” Belgrade coach Justin Arndt said. “Her matches were tough, even when she beat Noteboom, that could have gone either way as she had beaten Hanna twice earlier this year. We had lots of fun and a solid final showing for us at the A state tournament.”

Gracie Smyley, of Whitefish, defeated Park County’s Bobbi Lima in the championship match 7-5, 6-3.

Whitefish won the team title with 33 points, while Polson and Hardin followed with 26 and 19, respectively.

Beaverhead County won the boys’ championship with 33 points.
