Postseason honors were recently released and Manhattan Christian’s volleyball team dominated all-conference selections in District 12C after going unbeaten against league opponents and winning the district tournament championship.
CHURCHILL — After accepting the state runner up trophy and then walking off the court Saturday at Malta High School following a loss to Bridger in the Class C championship match, Taylor DeVries took comfort in the fact that her volleyball career was not over.
It will undoubtedly take a while for the heartache of Saturday’s state championship loss to Bridger to subside. But once it does Manhattan Christian’s players will have plenty to celebrate following a historic 2020 campaign.
As she looked at her players during a time out Saturday afternoon, Hannah Van Dyk could see it in their faces.
The win streak is over and the path to a repeat championship got a lot harder Friday night for Manhattan Christian.
After three memorable matches at last year’s state tournament, they’ll meet again.
