It didn’t take long for things to get out of hand Saturday afternoon for Three Forks.

In the team’s first postseason game since 2009, the Wolves committed a pair of first quarter turnovers and allowed four touchdowns against Missoula Loyola.

The unbeaten Rams (8-0), powered by three touchdown runs from Ryan Tirrell, coasted to a 54-14 victory in a first round State B playoff game. Tirrell scored on runs of 6, 25 and 5 yards to lead the rout.

Missoula Loyola picked off Wolves quarterback Colter Miller three times in the first half and led 40-0 at halftime.

Three Forks (4-5) got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter when Miller connect with Tanner Sayers for a 3-yard score. Conner Woodall added a 67-yard touchdown run to close out the scoring.

“It wasn’t the outcome we were wanting,” Three Forks coach Matt Bakken said. “But I am proud of the team and all their accomplishments this year. We had a great group of players and we will really miss our seniors.”
