Support phasing out styrofoam in restaurants

Conservative estimates state that it takes about 500 years for it to decompose, but many put their estimates at way longer than that, at anywhere from 1 million years to never. Rather than decompose, it breaks into little pieces and those pieces work themselves into our environment, posing a threat to fish and wildlife.

In an effort to help preserve the natural beauty of Montana that we all love and protect our right as Montanans to a healthy and clean environment, I am asking you to voice your support of House Bill No. 638, which is an act that would start the phasing out of styrofoam in food-related business by 2026.

This bill does not only help the environment, but it will also save taxpayers money by reducing the need to expand landfills, which happens on your dime. To support this bill contact your legislators and tell them the importance of banning styrofoam for the future of Montana’s environment.
